SV didn't have to be a carbon copy of BoTW, i just used it an ex. because it did a decent job into translating the Zelda formula into an open world, while GF did a piss poor job of it.
The fact that you're still at it and cannot get a grasp of this basic principle is kinda sad.
All GF had to do was look back and realise that all those shitty HMs can actually be translated into cool enviromental scenarios in 3D
Even something like Flash or Defog could be turned immersive abilities that help you traverse tricky locations. Like the lowest point of cave which turns super dark but hosts special rewards etc.
HMs are gone and i'm glad but instead of adapting them they got replaced... with (mostly) nothing, so here we are with SV being essentially a walking simulator.
