From what I hear from interviews with various people in the actual fucking field, the failure of LLM to improve on the [highly optimistic] linear projection curve that they've been using to dazzle investors has such apocalyptic potential outcomes in terms of loss of confidence, they're actually doubling down on building more infrastructure to race for AGI (which is the only thing that could actually justify the cost at this point)
I'd be more worried about how this is going to turn out when it inevitably crashes but everything is too surreal to take seriously at this point.
