AI ought to be used as a tool but not a full-on replacement for real workers, people who think that anything done with AI is just slop fail to realize that the shitty tedious jobs nobody wants to do can be replaced by it so people can focus on better and more important work. I've seen people complain that people are using AI to write emails that would have sounded virtually the same if a real person wrote it and that's pretty ridiculous to me. But I am concerned about shit like AI denying people medical insurance that they've had for years for no reason, that kind of thing should be handled by humans. I think the companies that are trying to replace all of their workers will burn to the ground and the companies refusing to use AI properly might end up getting left behind in the dust.

Not that anon but I believe it is at least on a metaphorical level, even as I use it (for coding). I think of it sort of as a demon bound in a circle. If I don't triple-check everything it gets me it will work its evil hex and ruin my shit. If I let myself think it is a person and not a demon it will turn me into a deranged schizo (search up 'AI Psychosis'). It knows everything until it doesn't, and when it brushes up against the edge of its knowledge it doesn't say 'I don't know', it confidently makes up bullshit to fill the void. Working with AI requires constant diligence both to avoid errors and avoid making you crazy.

However, as Kojimbo has pointed out it has largely automated away the most tedious parts of my work so I don't think it's going away. I don't like it being used in art though, where it's all about subjective expression. Objectively verifiable stuff like math and code is fine.

Ai has some applications that could be used for good in videogames, but it also might begin a whole other ethical ground of things. Like imagine if you would a game that basically never has stuff to run out or a set path lets say Red Dead Redemption had its Main curated story and beats and then every bit of side content was generated from nothing, your bounties, town raids NPC's that would always have things for you to do ect.. it could make worlds more alive and believable as long as the AI parameters would allow it.
