Phantom's needolin dialog seems to imply GMS forgot, discarded, or abandoned her. It's to the point she where she just wants the release of death.
As for why, Idk if it's ever said. Maybe she got to old? Maybe GMS lost interest once Lace was made? Lore's lacking it seems.
