And this is a perfect example of the Woke Right. Right down to the "People's Party".
The idea of banning religious people from the celebration of a festival has ZERO to do with the migration problem. It ultimately does nothing but it makes the natives "feel" good and that's a hallmark of woke, to do nothing while pretending your doing something, with the abject goal really being to seize power. How long before the PP bans celebrations of another religious group? Probably not all that long.
Instead of say, banning unfettered illegal immigration (actually useful) or dedicating your police forces to re-migrate "asylum seekers" when they land on the beaches or get caught squatting, they throw the peasants doggie treats while initiating a power grab to ban religious festivals. Indeed, the Spanish Constitution grants religious freedom and the free exercise of it, so this will eventually get overturned by some Spanish court, which will further agitate the population of people...Unnecessarily, I might add.
>We're fighting for Spanish identity!
You literally did jack diddly shit except pass a feel good law that will be overturned in short order because it's violating your own principles.
In the future, this same party might come for Christian celebrations when they've isolated and marginalized them enough.
This is just a naked power grab. Thinly veiled attacks on Islamic traditions today, will become thinly veiled attacks on Christians later. "That will never happen," will eventually give way to "No one dared speak out."
Shame on Spain. They went through this crap before during their Civil War and they are making the EXACT same mistake again.
>Spain is and will be forever the land of Christian people.
Tell that to the Republicans who banned Catholic institutions and murdered priests and raped nuns. They still can't figure out they're being played after all this time.
