what worked for 40k was cinematics, memetic loretubers, a sprawling plotline, and videogames
the latter are too costly, the tubers are cancerous and stink if inorganic, the sprawling plotline needs to grow on its own still and can't be cooked up quickly, while the former would also be too costly, UNLESS, they focused less on actual animation and more on mere vibes, storytelling and art, with a particular attention placed on a few elements: making the format be easily digestible for people who know nothing about the setting, using the format to make people actually grasp the fundamentals of the setting, be memorable enough in places for memes and reaction content, with twists, mottos, punchlines, and ideally a bit of horror, which is always something that sticks or lures
the gloomspite trailer is a great prototype for this, just gotta make it longer, portray an actual full short story (shit like the ones in the malign portents) and have a few instances within the video where the budget is actually directed to create some sick ass images or well animated parts
