I don't think you can understand what happens without realizing first that a certain percentage of humans are absolute psychos, sadists and predators. Doctors especially are arrogant, have a high prevalence of psychopathy and are numb to the suffering of others. They do their routine and the rest is up to the patient. There are predators and there is cattle. People who don't fall into one of these two categories are the enlightened, and they are less than 5% of the population. It's either them who are in charge, or the predators. Hitler lost, so the predators took over.
