I'm starting to wonder if next chapter is basically Mike deciding that Daisy was right and maybe he should just stop putting other people like Sandy first all the time. So he tells James that it's okay if they date after all but wuh oh James has already moved on and wants to bang David instead, showing just how shallow his alleged love for Mike always was. Then he calls Mike clingy and gray cat spergs out at the sheer hypocritical bullshit, alienating James.

I don't know how Lucy comes back to the table, which is an obvious weakness to this scenario.
