If you get good followers with some good level ups (there's tons of different tiers and hidden RNG level up mechanics) and give them good gear they can basically take on any boss in the game. However because they're dumb as bricks if they get mobbed by a lot of enemies they can get stunlocked forever and die.

Like some other Anon said you can't really play a sorcerer in this game. There's very little magic since it's based on Conan which itself has a limited magical lore.
