The real problem is that Hickman started Krakoa as a dystopia and planned for it to fall much earlier, but all the fans and writers just used it as a power fantasy and decided "unironically enacting the protocols of zion but with mutants and completely openly while bragging about it, not as a conspiracy or anything but just 100% straightforwardly and bragging about it" was a good idea.
