I think the attitude is at least somewhat excusable in Scott's case, at least as it pertains to ONE. The last time he tangled with them before Krakoa was when they put all his friends in a concentration camp, infected them with the TO virus to make them hunt and kill their own kind, and stung his brother (the good one) up from a ceiling to use as a battery.
