>it's neither
You say it’s “neither” but that’s just dodging. If the hunger isn’t for God, and it isn’t for growth, then what is it? Pretending it’s nothing doesn’t make the fire go away.
>arguably yes, but local churches enhance your life more often than not
Yes, churches can “enhance” lives, but let’s not confuse community potlucks with spiritual truth. A warm building and friendly faces don’t change the fact that the institution thrives on dependence, not empowerment.
>the whole point of the soul is individuality
>you can't tell people you've never met anything about their souls, or you shouldn't atleast
You’re right that the soul is about individuality, but that’s exactly why I can speak about it in universal terms. Individuality is the point. If every soul has its own throne, then calling people toward it isn’t presumption, it’s reminder.
>maybe, but that's pretty vague, and i'm guessing that's the point, so people can project whatever bullshit they would otherwise feel ashamed for
And sure, I’m being vague, because power isn’t something that fits neatly into a sermon or a doctrine. Power is raw, it’s personal, it manifests differently in each of us. If someone wants to project onto that, fine, it’s still theirs to own. Better to project and seize than to shrink and deny.

We agree on one thing: don’t hand yourself over to an external deity. But I’ll go further, don’t hand yourself over to anything: not tradition, not fear, not the false comfort of belonging. That’s the razor’s edge the Left Hand Path walks.
