Animations is the operative word, plural. It's a cost/time question. In the time it would take an animator to learn about fluid motion, Euler equations, Navier-Stokes equations, Bernoulli's equation, they could have put out 100 animations guaranteed.
Most animators are not mathematicians and fluid mechanics is all math.
