I was chatting to a buddy at the LGS who plays it and he mentioned it's coming up on its first Standard rotation. Because Lorcana is filled with Disney adults who aren't fat guys, they have no idea what this means and think they can't use their cards anymore. Even though a lot of the staples are being reprinted in a core set. And they're making a "Type 1" -like format for people to use their old cards.

He was telling me some of these people didn't know they could use old versions of a card. As in, "can't play Revised Lightning Bolt. You can only use 5th. Edition Lightning Bolts." Just all-around buffoonery as players don't understand what a rotation is and why it's needed. Or what formats are.

Because of this, the game might actually die. Doubtful, though, since it's Disney and they have "fuck you" money.
