I hate this chicken little bullshit about "the bees dying".

1) Beekeepers ONLY care about one thing: HONEY. They (in)breed bees to make the most honey possible. This inbreeding fucks up their whole genome and makes them highly susceptible to diseases, parasites, and stress.

2) The inbreeding also causes no genetic variation, so that a disease that kills one hive will probably kill nearly every hive IN THE WHOLE STATE too.

3) They work bees every single day of the year. They work north during the summer, and then they are shipped THOUSANDS OF MILES south during the winter. (stress)

4)ALL of their nutritious honey is stolen and replaced with artificial sugar crap mixed with soiy protein powder. (stress)

5)Because the hives are moved around so much any disease (or parasite) that hits a hive can be spread across a whole state in days, and the WHOLE CONTINENT in months.

6) Probably something about residual pesticides (especially nicotinic pesticides), but the hives are already genitally fucked, nutritionally deprived, chronically overworked, and constantly bombarded by diseases and pests (from being moved), long before they adsorb any pesticides.

Wild bees have NONE of these problems, BUT they produce lest than HALF the amount of harvestable honey for the beekeeper. There is NO problem with bees dying, and if the government actually gave a shit they would have a few thousand "wild" hives on standby for agricultural emergencies.
