Can I get your thoughts?
There's a guy at work, shift manager, he's Eastern European but been in this country for over 10 years, he's management
anyway, I'm friendly at work and nice to everyone, it's a workplace, you gotta get along and it makes things easier and more enjoyable for everyone, we all have a laugh
So this guy is also quite talkative and he keeps trying to arrange activities outside of work, he even tried arranging a holiday to another country, I feign interest and then talk it down
like a he wanted to go on holiday to Turkey and I said not that country etc, until it became the UK, until it became just a night out...which is scheduled for the end of September but hopefully we can cancel it closer to the time
Recently though he asked if I wanted to go on a hike with him, that 2 people had pulled out
I felt bad so agreed (guys at work, guys who I know would never want to)
Turns out, he booked an Airbnb, 2 nights/3 days and he wanted payment of 70 quid
I feel like I'm doing this guy a favour

I want to say the workplace isn't the place to make friends but it also kinda is?
