That was the point of the scene with Marcus in chapter 6, Manus are so obsessed with hating humans and killing them all that they'll also fuck over all Arcanists and not give a single shit because "well who cares, we the chosen ones will be fine when the new era arrives" and since they don't consider anyone who has so much as looked at a human nicely to be an Arcanist they don't have to care about anyone but themselves.
