Like I said, the anime presents everything authentically when it isn't.

The mangaka proceeds to troll for the next dozen chapters as a comedy manga until the character and story becomes retarded, until his editor forces him to restart the series with a "Part 2" where it starts with a new protagonist and retcons/conveniently ignores the authors comedy spin.

Chainsaw Man is an inauthentic troll story by a bitter mangaka who hates the state of the industry and wants to tell the most surface level "cool" but also nonsensically shallow work possible by appealing to the lowest common denominators of battle shounen fans.
