So you're about halfway through one campaign? jk... wait I have 272 hours and only 2 campaigns beaten, so... okay maybe that is accurate (I'll sit and micro stuff on pause for hours tho).

If you like both TI and Xenonauts, and haven't yet, I would check out all the XCom-like games. It's a fun subgenre and there's quite a few neat takes on the premise. My personal favorite, even though it's graphically quite dated, is just good 'ole openxcom + mods (there's a bunch).
