The manga would've been much better if Nagato had never hit the reset button, the Pain Arc was amazing because the stakes were so high, but then if you can just reset everything without consequence it opened the door to Kishimoto just doing bullshit because he knew the readers would just swallow it like a baby. Then you start getting the bullshit like Sasuke attacking the 5 Kage Summit, which is just complete fucking fanfic territory, Madara being revived twice, the entire pacing going to shit, the battles going from kino tactical showdown to Dragon Ball with headbands.

But, you know, writing a good story is hard, and if Kishimoto could just get the same amount of money by just throwing some random bullshit then why would he stop himself, he clearly stopped giving a fuck after Nagato, just clocked in and clocked out until Shonen Jump had milked the cow dry.
