They had terrible IPC and were power hungry.
I was one of the anons waiting for a real 8 core.
What was delivered was slower than a 2 core in most cases.
Back in the day single core performance was KING.
Bulldozer was just hella slow.
There were a few niche things FX was good at in certain workloads.
But by the time 4970k showed up, it was outperforming FX in multi core workloads.
Glad I got a 2600K
Shit lasted me 10 years without a hitch.
