new banner characters are basically always a powercreep and will carry you for a long time (you really only need 1 team for most content, SD is 2 teams and DA is 3 teams)
especially supporters and defenders.
anomalies are easier to build (both as characters and as teams) so that's second best.
lastly it's attackers/stunners/rupture, but if you really like the characters, then go for it. they're gonna be viable somewhere and the rerun won't be for a while.

if you wanna save though, piper+lucy can carry you through a lot of the content.
for a new account i'd advise against rolling balls.
and don't spend poly on regular banner rolls, that 300 selector's not worth much at all
