Some characters can give these utilities from off field with minimal swapping so you don't need to swap off of your dps but most of them are limited and will not be available right now. Pulchra can stun from off field if you have her and Lucy's buff lasts for 30s.
As for limiteds there is Astra for attack buffs, Burnice for anomaly and Trigger/Ju Fufu for stuns.

People just found a nice use for rat, but Vivian's bloom is the exact damage that Rat would add to Alice's assaults, and Vivian m2 increases bloom damage+ frequency in a way it comes down to the same as Rat's crit damage increase on m2.

For those of you who have Jane C2W1, don't roll for Alice's Sig.
Jane is going to be off field, and her Sig will never activate.
Save your rolls, put Jane's Sig on Alice,
Put Weeping Gemini on Jane since Alice can activate its stacks even when Jane is wearing it, Weeping Gemini is a proper off field engine.

If you roll Alice's Sig, then Jane's Sig will be wasted.

There are still other things you can try, but as a rule of thumb, you need to start somewhere with Anomaly.
You can slot in Miyabi as well, or Caesar (or another secondary support like Trigger). Almost everything works, aside of maybe Fufu due to crit damage buffs being the last thing anomaly want.

Let me explain anomaly. Anomaly works like this: When an enemy gets enough anomaly build up, an anomaly of the respective element triggers and will last by default 10 seconds. During this time you can still get more anomaly build up but NOT cause this anomaly again.
Certain chars like Rat can EXTEND this time, in this case to 15 seconds.

The only way you can cause this very anomaly again is by DISORDERING it. This is normally done by a different element that reaches the maximum anomaly build up on the very same enemy.
Note: This needs to be a REAL disorder, aka not what Yanagi has on her ex especial (Polarity Disorder). This one explicitly states it does NOT remove the anomaly.

Why is Alice good? Because her lvl 3 charge attack causes a polarized Assault, which, similar to Miyabi's own special freeze element, counts as its own anomaly, even though it needs no build up, and can disorder with any and all other anomaly. Unlike Miyabi however, Alice can still cause the normal physical anomaly build up just fine, once again disordering her very own polarized assault.
Note that she also adds a dot to the assault that makes disordering assaults less shit than it is by default.

She is a whole different beast than Yanagi, and Rat loves her because she fixes the biggest weakness Rat has: The cooldown of causing Assaults.
That said, this is strictly one way. Alice doesn't need Rat, as other supports will help her just as well (notably Vivian). But Alice works really fucking well without a char like Vivian too, which makes her such a good Rat partner. Again, because she disorders her own assaults, something Rat would need a second char for anyways.

The beginner gameplan is that you want to ult twice, use her enhanced dash attack and dump energy during a stun.

I never claimed it was on purpose retard. If it's left in the game, people will flock to it for ez wins. Spamming it on anything and everything to where changes will be made to the bosses/enemies/mechanics of the game. Same thing happened with Miyabi, everyone got her, everyone has been spamming her on any type of content cause she even destroys ice resistant content. And now we have anomaly buildup nerf, newest bosses being unfreezeable (Miasma Priest / Fiend), higher cap on damage resistance 40% instead of the usual 20% and much more. More things to come to nerf Miyabi and if that Jane/Alice interaction stays in the game you can bet your ass that shit will happen because of it.
