Physically grab mag from chest rig, drop mag from gun, physically insert mag, grab slide/handle and rack, have the option of retaining the mag by putting it back on your rig

Press R and wait for animation, maybe the game has the option of tactical vs retainment reload if you double tap or hold the button
Vr is objectively the better gunplay experience
