The internet is not real life.
The way people online talked, you'd think Silksong would've sold millions of copies within the first hour. But it's barely at 500k. Sure, a massive success for an indie. But if a AAA game sold 500k, they'd shut the studio down. But again, the discourse online would have you believe everyone and their mother was gonna buy this game. What's my point? My point is, despite the fact most people have internet access, the vast majority of actual "talking" done on the internet is done by a very vocal minority and you cannot use the internet as a barometer for how the real world actually feels about things. Twitter, Reddit, Youtube, 4chan, wherever the fuck you go it's all just a very loud minority screeching their heads off, living in a bubble...
