>What do you even do in SFV without trigger?
You play solid neutral. Tough concept to grasp after a few years of SF6, I know, but it's how fighting games used to work back in the day.

Monkey gameplay is fun and attractive. No one wants to watch pic related because it's fucking boring and lame.

It is fucking INSANE how much more time spent in neutral you have in SFV even when both characters are momentum swinging, VT activating bots than even the most solid Ryu mirror in SF6 would have. Revisiting Jive is always depressing, in my head, I always default to thinking the game was kinda mid, but I forget just HOW MUCH better we used to have it. SF6 makes it look so much better by comparison and I wasn't even a fan of it when it was still around.
