There is a great quote from mister Drout about how old stories are "memetic of literary tradition, not of real life"

For example, on Malory's le morte d'arthur, knights often woke from sleep, put on their armor, and jump out of windows in less than a minute, when in real life, it would take 2 people and 15 minutes. Of course Malory was aware of this, since he was a knight himself. But he still wrote that, because its part of knights tale literary tradition.
You can hardly claim to understand a subject that relies heavily on tradition (like Itano circus for mecha anime, Yutapon cubes for debris, or the Akira slide for two wheeled vehicles) if you don't have the context. Go watch some anime, newfag tourist, before throwing criticism around. This is an anime game, on an anime website.
