It felt so unnecessary, and it took away so much of the charm

But it was just thing lame idea that was dropped on me. Made the characters feel hollow - they're not even real in the game

I figured she wasn't gonna do super amazing cause she had the lowest engagement of the drip marketed characters in Japan, but like most of the year of narrative setting for the character about how she's "Mavuika but better" and all the forced outrage over that bike back in January that as soon as I saw Augusta drip marketing it clicked who was probably behind it all, and then trying to sell her as a pair with Iuno every way possible (Yuri, kit specific synergy, sun and moon themed etc) short of featuring them on the same banner (thank you for not doing that at least Kuro) but instead stuffing her banner with premium units like Carlotta and Shorekeeper only for it to not even crack the top 10....seems pretty lackluster.

Maybe people in Japan are getting wise to the fact that no matter how much they like a character they're all one shots in their own patch that have functionally 80% the same story arcs and aura farming with bad insert song beats (the insert songs in this game are amateur tier sorry) before vanishing from the world, so basically the only reason to pull them is for end game shit. Even if you really like the character they're never appearing again after their banner patch anyway....

Ive had such a mixed experience with this game overall. I picked it up in late 2.0 to see what all the fuss is about and after running out of stuff to do in the game this games playerbase has a giant hate boner for. Spent much of 2.0-2.2 catching up on 1.C stuff to finally make it through to Rinnascita and not miss any context only for it to end up feeling like it doesn't really matter anyway outside of you running an organization called the Black Shores even though you dont really ever go there anymore and just talk to people from it over comm mostly.

I've now done literally everything in the game up to the Act VIII story (far more than most CCs that are seemingly paid to shill the game and have tons of unfinished major quests and events in their quest tab) and talk bad about its competition) and am UL 78 so I have a pretty good idea of what I think it does well and doesn't at this point.

I was legit enjoying everything up to about 2.4 when it kind of dawned on me that the character I picked up the game for, Carlotta, hasn't even appeared in the story in months outside of one characters event story very briefly and didn't even get an event for her swimsuit outfit. This is pretty damn stupid and kind of unprecedented as is the hard shift into indie girl voice music and staring off into the sunset to cap off every major story quest now and then the character is immediately sunsetted in the story right after.

The games obvious choice to focus on graphics, the Tiktok and streamer hype beast audience feels like a double edged sword as well. Optimization is spotty as hell lately for a bunch of extra grass and details I dont really give a shit about or notice really, the events are pretty shit, the areas and characters LOOK cool but are mostly empty. Its definitely not gods gift to the gacha genre like its shills claim, but it can be a fun game in certain instant still so I've been keeping up on it

I just finished the story. I hate to say it but this felt like the filler patch everyone expected frog's patch to be, in terms of presentation quality. The 2nd half of 2.4 and 2.5 were excellent but this? They had to resort to using fucking white text on black background. I don't know what the fuck happened that they couldn't maintain the level of quality from the previous 2 patches since it's not like the scope of 2.6 is any bigger.

Did a good chunk of those already. Every one is done up to at least level 4 with quite a few level 5 and 6 ones clear that are at least reasonable non weekly boss ones. Some of them seem genuinely buggy with the bosses despairing and respawning, glitching out from the new moves sets they gave them or just stopping taking damage at all. They also seen to have settled on boss splits itself in duplicates and chucks borderline invisible projectiles at you in any case. When most of the shit you die from is cause they make the stuff hitting you super hard to see thats just kind of shitty IMO. Holograms are ALMOST what I'm looking for in a hard fight

Finished the story, 100% exploration in sanguis plateaus, finished the scales of the past photo event, did the lady of the sea hologram (up to difficulty 5 i cant do 6 im too bad sorry).
Overall a good patch but the fact that I lost my 50-50 for Shorekeeper makes me hate it. Right now I'm just waiting for leaks to say more about Chisa's kit before I even bother guaranteeing SK. If SK doesn't work with Chisa I won't roll.
