Based. I think if they had just let Hitler rest peacefully he’d be largely forgotten. Maybe not forgotten but he would just be a historical figure like Napoleon.

But they made him the boogeyman. And they basically ensured that he became a legend. So he became the official “Devil” in this system and as more and more people become disillusioned with this system they will naturally gravitate to the guy the system says is their ultimate antithesis. So that eventually his ideology will be reborn instead of just fading away. Really it’s almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy in a way.

I think part of the appeal is that they lost. So how it would have turned out is a mystery. You can kind of paint whatever alternative timeline you want in your head. We didn’t get to see Nazi Germany rot away like the USSR or transition into a gay feminist capitalist liberal US proxy like the other fascist states that didn’t die in WW2.

In that way Hitler accidentally made himself into a legend that will never die. Had he won and gotten old and sick perhaps he wouldn’t be.
