Reminder to the Unionchuds on here who think the Union were based white supremacists.
>The Union Army was fighting for black civil rights, black citizenship, and black integration
>The Union government repeatedly undermined attempts by Southern Unionists to adopt a plan of colonization for freed slaves in Haiti, Liberia, or anywhere else
>Unionists intentionally undermined, and ignored the suggestions of, the Southern Loyalists' Convention in Philadelphia which sought colonization of most freedmen & only allowing those that served in the Union military & their families to remain in the U.S and have voting rights.
>Every single piece of civil rights legislation in the U.S has been based on the reconstruction amendments passed by the Unionist congress
>The legacy of the Union war effort is modern multi-racial America

This isn't directed at those who think this is a good thing, but there's a surprising amount of conservative/far-right people I've seen on here who try to pretend that the Unionist war effort was something that it wasn't.
