yeah while that's the legends lore (frankly i dont know much of it) I was thinking that a lot of the imperial systems of governance would be inherited in some form, and since that government was dysfunctional as all hell I can imagine that it would transfer, alongside the general culture and personnel to some degree to a new republic
whether or not thats lore accurate to disney or legsnds canon idk but that would be how I'd expect things to go, regardless of whether or not there were various imperial remnant factions
