Eggrobo is only difficult because you have a very narrow window of opportunity, if you don't do max height jumps arcing over his spikes, you die. Also sometimes the game fucks up the rebound logic and you crash through him anyway and die.

Yeah I figured that shit out when I was like 10. Took me a few years to figure it out though, at first I just battled it out and tried getting 1-2 hits. You can also spindash into his face, if you press jump right before hitting, you'll rebound instead of crashing through into his spikes. That's one other way to style the fight.

Yeah if you jump at his head on the second turn you can kill him before the clock reaches 0:13.
But, I think the guy was specifically doing this to show off that you can damage it in the second phase with the spindash. Which also gives you extra style points.

Oil Ocean is just where the game starts getting difficult. Well, arguably Mystic Cave is the part where it does, but that level gets the pass because it has cooler music.
