thats the neat part, everyone does, the fakes are indistinguishable from real shares thanks to the way the market was built after 911 and the digification of the market.
also, when you short a stock, you go out to a fellow market participant and borrow their shares, then sell them as if you owned them, else its an illegal maneuver called naked shorting.
you can also borrow ALL the shares, sell them, fail to deliver them (return) and do the entire cycle all over again repeatedly in short succession therefore totally fucking shit to all hell. (we are here) now they have to figure out how to distribute 10x warrants than should ever be allowed to exist.
this could all have been stopped, and prevented, but there is complicity ALL the way to the DTCC.
