I'm actually serious. I blame Bungie more because they went and fucked up when they could've made an interesting story about Chief being an alien instead of glossing over the fact that Guilty Spark saw Chief, says they knew each other a time longer than any human can live, and nobody puts two and two together nor questions how Chief could've survived that long. There's game reveals about many player characters.
>"You cannot hide from what you once were, Revan! Recognize that you were once the Dark Lord—and know that I have taken your place!"
>PC of Bioshock is Andrew Ryan's secret love-child
>Cloud was never a SOLDIER but a Shinra Guard but he was still at Nibelheim and the one who stopped Sephiroth
We could've gotten a masterful twist with huge impact into the next games but no, Bungie had 0 ambition whatsoever and let the plot point drop like a rock. I see 343 at least tried something after remembering that line and it vaguely plays to Bungie's reference to Marathon and some recurring eternal hero but Bungie dropped the ball with Halo 2 long before 343i existed so my anger goes to them first and foremost.
