On Saturday I finally got out and tested out some reloads for my M1 Garands and they functioned perfectly. It’s the first time I’ve been to the range in about a month. I’m typing this from the hospital. I got my gallbladder removed and a stent put in my main bile duct almost 4 weeks ago, and I’ve had 5 ER visits and 3 hospital admissions in the past month. I’ve had 2 blood infections since all this. So they pulled the stent out earlier today and I’m on IV antibiotics so hopefully this goddamn nightmare is over.

Anyway, I used to use IMR-4064 for my 30-06 loads, but it’s drastic price increase and availability decrease made me explore other options. I settled on N135 due to its burn rate being really close to IMR-4064, and its cost being substantially cheaper. It worked just fine so I’ll be doing 30 cal ammo cans worth of reloads whenever I have time. On another personal note that’s pissed me off due to this hospital BS
>our 3 week fall outage started yesterday at the plant I work at
>was supposed to go to work and make double time all day, over $100 per hour
>instead I was sick and admitted to the hospital
>fuck my life

Neat. Good luck with the Lee Navy reloads. I have a dream one day to “steal” a Lee Navy from a local auction because nobody knows what it is.

Yeah. You know how good Swede Mausers are, so you should get another one.

I believe it was pic related. But it was a package deal with a bunch of ammo and a bayonet. I don’t remember exact cost, around $1700-$1800?

I believe it does have some stout recoil, though I’ve never shot surp 8x56r, just my own reloads which aren't quite as hot. But I mean you’re ahooting a 208 grain bullet which is quite a heavy bullet, and surp ammo is typically loaded fairly “hot.”
