Eh you do you Anon. I think the idea of "potty training" being a facade for regression to be really appealing, and to be honest I think the fail state is the main draw for most people. It's taste.
You have fun with your pullups, and maybe buy a pack or two when you go to the store. Thinking on it, it is very toddler-like to refuse diapers while you go through pullup after pullup. :)
