Partially true. There's a reason why you add the spices to chilli right before being served versus thrown in together in the beginning. Why? The seasonings go bland and you can't taste them. But most Italian dishes don't use a lot of seasonings anyway, tomatoes and onions cooked down for 3 days with a dash of salt, pepper, a garlic clove and a few leaves of basil. I love Italian food but regardless, French and German cuisine is superior.
