I dont agree, I dont believe theyll add anything to the base game now with the current dlc system people are calling for in place, because why bother? I think itll all be separate a la episode aigis. Hpw are you going to introduce such numerous and drastic changes as say the ones in Royal as a dlc? Like you mentioned theyd have to change the calendar system, and yes, while some parts of persona rereleases can be mediocre, mostly the latter parts, I think now the games overall will have a 'base game + dlc' feeling rather than a full game throughout if that makes sense.
For referencr, heres some overall changes royal made (not story related)
5R alone added:
-Changes to already coded days to allow more free time
-Thieves den
-The entire Kichijoji area
-Expansions on Justice link
-Changes to battle mechanics (ammo and baton pass, showtimes)
-A bunch more personae
-Different velvet room progression
-Changes and expansions to every palace + its mechanics (will seeds and security level)
-Expanded character portraits
-New mementos quests
-A bunch of extra cutscenes and animated scenes
& thats just what i could think of off the top of my head.
I dont have any confidence at all that theyll do any of that with a dlc.
