Had enough of the shilling and the constant disguised promotions. I actually drove through one today for the first time in five years. The greeting when I pulled up was: "will you be using the mobile app today?"
Meanwhile the giant TV screen where the menu used to be was just displaying the last car's receipt. I asked if I could see the menu or if I needed a cell phone to order. They said I should be able to see the menu, but it just flicked to another giant digital receipt for some other person's presumably mobile-app-ordered meal.
The person with the microphone didn't seem to understand there was no fucking food or prices displayed for me to choose from so I said I'd eat somewhere else and drove away.
Is this commonplace? Is it just a place to retrieve your online order now? Should I have gone inside? What the fuck happened in the last five years?
Also, I later checked the prices online and it's just bullshit expensive now anyway. It would be $12 for the meal I would have ordered.
Burger King has way better food anyway and they had a normal menu. It was another big monitor, but the prices stayed up long enough to choose something. Still expensive, but I didn't feel like some clueless old man trying to order either. They actually displayed food they had for sale! Imagine that.
General McDonalds/fast food hate thread.
