I would love a narrative campaign style game in the same vein as Mordheim, Frostgrave, etc. with all the between game progress, items, base building, look, hiring mercs, etc. except with the ability to custom make your guys similar to Brutal Quest or Planet28 instead of the premade Mordheim warbands. I love the 3rd party NPCs from Frostgrave but I'd like to see them more fleshed out. I would like to see better combat rules, as both Mordheim and Frostgrave leave A LOT to be desired.
Secondly I would love a mid sized late medieval fantasy game where you troops are in rank and flank, but can "break formation" to assault inside buildings, through castle gates, pillage towns, etc. I love narrative aspect, and I have how it's basically impossible to do all these things in rank and flank games. Why would my dudes stay in formation atop a castle ramparts they just stormed? Traditional rank and flank structure have it basically impossible to utilize terrain in any way except LoS and movement blocking. Honestly NMtBH does late medieval combat very well, I would love to see it modified to accommodate what I just mentioned, and the ability to customize commanders to have specific abilities and traits to make them feel more unique, and finally a much better fantasy supplement than the one it has.
