There's bad writers for every faction. They retconned Tau FTL too despite that literally making no sense whatsoever for the Tau. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Okay, but what's your favorite non-Tau auxillary race? For me, probably the Vorgh, with the Nicassar being a close second.

I don't understand why they didn't just make the Tau Breacher squads gue'vesa. It's literally the perfect role for them, it's close-quarters combat so humans are better if things become a melee, but still using Tau weapons and equipment so it's not a role Kroot could fill.
