Like I said in my reply to the other anon, line breaks on words are to save on costs, I don't disagree there. But paragraphs absolutely have a stylistic component to them and there's all sorts of commentary you can find on that. I'm also not against experimental text formatting, but that's just not relevant to translation unless the source is being experimental and that needs to be conveyed, in which case sure. But I'm talking about turning normally formatted Japanese into normally formatted English.
