you're losing the equivalent of a $5 monthly pack and even less if you half ass a career to get into open or B group finals, you're not losing much as a whole and there is nothing wrong in enjoying the game casually since it barely has any paywalls.
i think most people here do CMs out of the enjoyment of getting a good minmaxed uma after dozens of runs and seeing them perform against other powerful umas, if you don't enjoy that there's really to reason to think too hard about it.
