Complete nonsense. Muskets were only inaccurate compared modern guns which are extremely accurate. Muskets were more accurate than a bow (which couldn't penetrate armor) and far more deadly, plus the bayonet gives you a stabbing spear (as you mentioned).

Guns can shoot thru armor, bows cannot. Plus any random half starved peasant can quickly learn to effectively use a gun, whereas archers need to be strong and healthy to pull a 100-150lb war bow.
