I enjoy the idea of Friend opposing Gaster by trying to derail the prophecy and being partially responsible for the weird route by giving Spamton the Thorn Ring, but I don't really know where I would take Friend's character beyond that. I guess I just hope he has fun dialogue and isn't too similar to Flowey personality-wise, since that's something I see in a lot of fan interpretations.
