Because this place is a corporate hellhole ripe with paid and unpaid shills.
Outside of that, it's because techbros have invested literal trillions upon trillions for nearly two decades now and they're panicking after suddenly realizing that "AI" is not only a dead end but also not at all marketable let alone economically viable outside of very specific military/medical applications, so they're now pushing generative AI, LLMs and what have you to the general public as a sort of elixir for society's evils (which they themselves created) in hope that they will get the populace hooked to their specific hyper controlled online platforms, which already work on the same principle as Gacha.
You get a lot of midwits here saying AI is socially disruptive, but it's not because of the idea that AI will somehow take away our jobs, it's because AI will crash and burn really hard and take all those several trillions of investments straight to the gutter, the socioeconomic crash you will witness in a couple of years will be truly unreal.
