Gonna ask again but how is it that Flynn fails at branching out away from Sonic when his own colleague is easily doing this?

How does that hack Ian Flynn try to launch his own project, that Drogune thing, and have it completely fail to get off the ground, but other people don't have that problem?

I'm seeing that Endless Fantasia, a project by another one of the IDW writers, Daniel Barnes, is about to get its funding.

So what gives? How does one of Flynn's own colleagues manage to get his project funded, but the supposed "big name" writer can't? Is Flynn's name just that much of a black mark that people see it and run the other way? You'd think after all this time he'd have some kind of following that would buy his original slop, but I guess not.
