>Remove the Starborn shit and actually do hard sci-fi, or lean fully into fantasy sci-fi like Mass Effect / Star Wars
>Downsize the game to take place in one system with 7-8 planets, each filled with handcrafted settlements, quests and NPCs, instead of 1000 planets with 99% of them being entirely proc-gen slop that provide no incentive whatsoever to explore.
>Allow for actual space travel between planets, with handcrafted POIs (space stations, derelict ships, fleet staging areas etc...) to explore and discover new quests / content. HARDMODE: include seamless transition from ground to space
>Set the game during the colony war with giant robots and xenomorph bio weapons, instead of just alluding to it and blue balling players
>Include more companions that aren't moralfag constellation members
There. I fixed the game. It's still bizarre to me that Bethesda took the strongest aspect of their RPGs, being the sense of adventure through organic exploration, and shat all over it by making a loading screen simulator filled with barren worlds outside of a few hub zones.
