Your pic kind of illustrates the issue, though. At least when it comes to American animation, you have to go back half a century to get to the point before every character had to be ugly, a barely human looking blob, or anime adjacent.
I've always preferred anime styles, so it doesn't really matter to me. But for the people who don't like that, it's certainly an issue. And I believe it is the primary culprit in their relatively higher levels of derangement.
