The reason blacks go crazy over Wakanda is exactly the same there were black nations, but they were one-off flashes. No dynasties, no continuity. Most blacks have no clue about their roots. Korean-Americans, Chinese-Americans, Japanese-Americans all know their ancestry, but blacks?

Those nations are like summer dreams briefly bright, then gone. Who even owns that history? That's why it hits them with massive inferiority complexes. And even that was limited to West and East Africa, Central and South Africa were just pure tribal societies. That's why America just labels them African-Americans. Because where they're from is unknown, and that unknown breeds inferiority.

That's exactly why they go nuts over Wakanda, it's their dream nation, a civilization of blacks superior to all others.
